General Electric (GE) East Africa
Nairobi, KENYA
General Electric (GE) commissioned Triad Architects to design the fit-out of
their first office in East Africa in the I&M Bank Building in early 2005. The
opening of the office was planned to coincide with the worldwide GE-Day
on 27th July and Triad had to carry out this work to a tight programme.
The existing office space covering 290 square meters was to be converted into
an open-plan office layout with selected enclosed spaces i.e. meeting room,
conference room, server room, mail room and an executive office. Despite the
fact that the office has windows all round, existing ceiling level is extremely low,
causing the space to appear dark and unfriendly.
Our design concept was therefore mainly to create a modern, open, bright,
warm and friendly atmosphere, which we carried out successfully without
compromising the quality of design or services delivered.
The works were completed and handed over on 20th July 2005, in time for the
opening and the GE-Day celebrations on 27th July 2005.
