Kololo Town Houses
KAMPALA , UGANDA
TRIAD was commissioned as the Architects for the proposed Kololo Town houses in February 2005. The project involved design of 14 up-market townhouses on a 1.9 acre site in the exclusive Kololo residential area of Kampala . The townhouses will be rented out with the target market being Foreign Missions staff. Very few up market townhouses in a gated compound are available in Kampala and it was envisaged that well designed and finished
townhouses, offering common centrally managed services, would be unique in the market and would be attractive to the targeted clientele.
Other amenities included in the scheme are a swimming pool with associated changing rooms, sauna, steam room, fully equipped gymnasium, functions room for 70 people, domestic staff quarters for each house and a security office cum guard house.
The townhouses are divided into 3 types. Type one is the largest unit measuring approximately 294 square meters located on the higher side of the plot. Four type one houses were provided, each with 3 en-suite bedrooms. Type two consists of six units each measuring approximately 266 square meters and located on the lower side of the plot, each with 4 en-suite bedrooms. Type three consists of 4 two bedroom townhouses each measuring approximately 184 square meters. Modern high quality finishes have been specified for each of the houses with fitted kitchens and all en-suite bedrooms.
The pool house with a functions room and gymnasium totals 331 square meters. The total development measures 3,845 square meters. The project will commence on site in July 2006 and be complete by June 2007.
