Biedersorf East Africa, a multinational company with headquarters in Germary, manufactures beauty products, some of which are the leading brands in the region. These include the “Nivea” brand among many others.

Over the years the company has been growing rapidly and the need arose to build a new storage warehouse at their Sasio Road factory, located off Dunga Road in the Industrial Area, Nairobi.

Triad Architects, following a competition with a few other local firms, were commissioned as the architects and project managers for construction of the new warehouse. Triad co-ordinated a consultants team that included quantity surveyors, structural / civil engineers and mechanical / electrical engineers. The team advised the client on the most cost-effective ways of carrying out the project and setting project budgets and time frames. An 800m2 warehouse was designed and constructed, with an adjacent, externally accessed inflammable store for bulk production liquids. Also involved were major extension to the parking areas in the premises, with allowance being made for deliveries by 40-foot container lorries. The storage in the warehouse is on a racking system and Triad co-coordinated and advised on procurement of a suitable racking system. The project also included a few offices on the ground and mezzanine floors of the warehouse.

The project was completed in a period of five months and is now in full use.
