The foundation stone laying ceremony for Professor Nelson Awori Centre took place on Friday 14th August 2009 at the site on Ralph Bunche Road, Upperhill Nairobi.

It was graced by Prime Minister of the Republic of Kenya Rt. Hon. Eng. Raila Odinga E.G.H, MP. Other guests in attendance included Minister for Public Works, Dr. Chris Obure, Minister for Medical Services, Prof. Anyang Nyongo, the Nairobi Hospital C.E.O Dr. Cleopa Mailu, Mrs. Delores Jordan, mother to the world famous basketball player Michael Jordan, Awori family members and friends. On hand to represent Triad were Charles Ndungu and Tim Vaulkhard both directors of Triad, and Davis Adieno from the Triad Communications and Graphics department.

The developer Mocian Limited was represented by H.E. Hon. Dr. A.A. Moody Awori, who welcomed the chief guest at 11.00am and together with the architects led him on a tour of the site.

The colourful ceremony was held to lay the official foundation stone and to sensitize family, friends and clients about the development and its objectives once completed in May 2010. Construction of the Centre began in January 2009.

The development is in honor of the late Professor Nelson Awori who was a renowned surgeon and pioneer kidney specialist in the region. Professor Nelson Awori performed the first kidney transplant in East & Central Africa at Nairobi Hospital in 1978. As a Professor of Medicine, he taught many medical students including some of the leading doctors today in Kenya.

The Place
Located in the Upper Hill area of Nairobi on Ralph Bunche Road, this office complex is ideal for professionals looking for consulting offices to purchase either for their own use or as an investment. The development shares a boundary with Nairobi Hospital and it is intended that it will be linked directly to the hospital, therefore bringing the facilities that this leading hospital offers to the door step of this development.
