Triad and its staff have wide experience in
working on development projects
throughout East Africa and in neighbouring
countries outside the immediate East
African region, namely Ethiopia, Sudan,
Somaliland and Rwanda. Triad worked in
Southern Sudan in the 70s and constructed
several development projects for World
Bank and their associated projects and during the 80s worked on projects in
Khartoum.
In 1974 Triad was appointed by World Bank
as architects to the Project Development Unit
in setting up a veterinary project in Southern
Sudan and this resulted in the construction
of housing projects, an office building and
several regional vaccine production
laboratories at Jonglei, Yei and Boor. Various
other
projects for church organisations were
undertaken in and around Juba during that
period.
In 2004 Triad were approached by CARE to
design work for their USAID funded
educational project at Maridi and prepared
type designs for secondary schools to be
constructed throughout Southern Sudan.
Tenders were called for the first phase
construction project.
During 2005-2006 Triad have been involved
with the survey work and preparation of
tender documents for the rehabilitation of
various military installations for the SPLA,
funded through the US State Departments
Programme. Sites have been surveyed in
Juba, Maridi, Yei and Rumbek and contract
documents are well advanced to start work
on site in Rumbek.
Of all practices working in East Africa, Triad
have more experience in Sudan than any other
practice and have staff who whose experience
goes back to the 70s who still work for Triad.
Triads work in development projects
throughout East Africa brings in-depth
experience to the medical sector and education
sectors throughout the region and is
particularly valuable to the development of
Southern Sudan.
Triad as a general architectural practice
provides full design services and project coordination
and works with a range of other
professionals quantity surveyors and
engineers to produce information packages
that can be tendered or negotiated with
selected contractors. Triad also provides postcontract
supervision from their offices in
Nairobi and by locating staff in the field.
