Laying of the Foundation stone for Teachers Service Commission Headquarters Building - in Upper Hill, Nairobi
A ceremony for the foundation stone laying for the Teachers Service Commission headquarters building was done on 13 March 2007. It was officiated by Hon. Prof. George Saitoti, EGH, MP and Minister for Education. In attendance were senior staffers from three Ministries: - Education, Finance and Roads & Public Works. Triad Architects are responsible for the Design and Supervision of the project.
“This was a great moment in the History of TSC as it marks the realization of having their own home address” the Minister enthused, he reiterated the importance of the project to TSC and the ministry, as it is in line with the current restructuring and creation of conducive working environment within the Ministry of Education. This project will save the TSC an estimated Kshs. 90M they incur in rents annually. The minister further assured the construction team that the government fully supports the project and will avail the necessary funds as budgeted for.
The project is being constructed by N.K. Brothers Ltd at a cost of Kshs. 829, 909,101.00 and is scheduled for completion in April 2009. Triad Architects the lead consultants reported that the construction was ahead of schedule by one month.
