Waterfront Gardens

The Waterfront Gardens, a new exclusive upper middle income housing estate to be developed in Loresho off Waiyaki Way in Nairobi, had a colourful ground breaking ceremony on 26th January, 2006. The Guest of Honour for this project milestone was the Minister for Housing, Hon. Soita Shitanda, who was accompanied by the Permanent Secretary for Housing, Mr. Makumi and the Director for Housing, Mr. Malombe.

This Triad Architects designed project consists of a 206 housing estate developed by Hewton Limited; a subsidiary company wholly owned by Coopers Kenya Limited. Phase I, which is now commissioned, consists of 45 houses and these will be ready for occupation in May 2007. In addition to the houses, the scheme boasts of an attractive waterfront commercial development that overlooks the man-made dam within the site. This is in addition to other recreation facilities provided in the scheme. Also in attendance were Hewton Limited directors led by the Chairman, Mr. Michael J. Karanja and the Managing Director, Mr. Mucai Kunyiha. Shelter Afrique, the project financiers, were led by the Managing Director, Mr. P. M’baye.

Three sample houses have already been constructed and are ready for viewing. Home-owners have already began buying the houses with the selling agents, Villa Care Limited, having pre-sold 25% of the Phase I units which are being sold at prices ranging from 7.5 to 8.5 million.
